The figure of Abraham in No. 2 bears in some parts considerableresemblance to that of the same subject given as a specimen of Holbeins WOOD ENGEAVING. 387 Bible cuts at page 368 ; but there are several others in the work whichare much more like his style ; and which, perhaps, might be copied from. No. 2. earlier cuts of his designing. The two preceding may be considered asspecimens of the best designed cuts in the Old Testament; and thefollowing, the return of the Two Spies, is given as one of the moreordinary.
