A fine small-sword with silver-inlaid hilt, England or The Netherlands, circa 1680 Double edged, slender blade of flattened hexagonal section with ornamental etching with remnants of gilding over the entire length of the blade on both sides. Iron knuckle-bow hilt with profuse silver inlays. Mythological scenes on the double shell-guard. The bow and pommel bear figurative depictions within baroque decoration. Iron grip winding with checkerboard silver interweave. The silver inlays in beautiful condition except for the guard, which is somewhat rubbed in places. L,
