One of the hardiest and most beautiful of Palms; in habit oi growth resembling our well-known Cali- fornia Fan Palm, but more symmetrical and spreading, and by far a superior palm; leaves fan-shaped, medium size; no filaments; retaining its dark green color during the winter months; stems short, thorny, of upright, compact growth: should have precedence over the Califor- nia Fan Palm, and no doubt will havp when its value as one of the grandest of our decorative plants is fully appre- ciated.
