The Shishi Odori Dance performance in Hiraizumi Iwate Japan Asia


The Tohoku Region has a unique custom of using costumes representing deer,wild boar, lions and other animals for kagura, the traditional dance performances. The shishi mmai, the popular lion dance, is performed throughout Japan but in Hiraizumi, it is called " shishi Odori," and the performers wear deer costumes.
