This suburb of Pietermaritzourg is a favourite resort for picnicparties, affording as it does shady plantations and open grounds for the station as the train passes Masons Mill on the left we run alongsidethe Natal-Cape Line and over the bridge which spans the main road to Bulwerand the Umsindusi River. We proceed again and travel through a landscape ofmuch beauty and of many charming residences. A little further on we pass the inner border line of the town, and observestanding in an extenive park on our right a handsome red brick edifice. Thisis one of the foremost colleges in Natal. On the left will again be noticed thenew line which runs from Maritzbu
