The Alderney blonde hedgehog is very rare and not an albino. Lack of predators on Alderney mean these animals are tame and are much loved by tourists


Blonde hedgehogs are not normally albino and are extremely rare, except on Alderney where they form 25% of the hedgehog poulation and are tame enough to be picked up.
