He was the youngest sonof Frederick Frelinghuysen, a brilliant lawyer, whowas the youngest son of General Frederick Freling-huysen, a lawyer, delegate to the Continental Con-gress, member of the Provincial Congress and Com-mittee of Safety of New Jersey, captain of the Revo-lution, major-general of militia in the Whiskey Re-bellion, and United States senator from 1793 to1796. General Frelinghuysen was born in Somer-ville, April 13, 1753, was graduated from Princetonin 1770, and died in 1804, leaving three sons: John,a graduate of Queens College, member of the StateCouncil, anjerseyascolon01leef
