Quasar observations. Chandra X-ray Observatory (CXO) images of six distant quasars, all billions of light years away. These images were obtained as part of research into the quantum nature of space-time ('quantum foam'). Several competing theories were tested by examining light that has travelled vast distances across space, such as from these quasars. The Chandra observations ruled out one of the theories. Further observations were made at other wavelengths have set further limits on the possible nature of the quantum foam. Images published in 2015.
