A view of the original ‘History of Snow Hill’, a 1968 mural by Kenneth Budd located at St Chad’s Queensway, Birmingham, England, UK in 1978. The mural celebrated the history of Birmingham Snow Hill station and the Great Western Railway, the company that ran the train service between London Paddington and Snow Hill station. The mural was destroyed in 2007 when the area was redeveloped. In 2013, Kenneth Budd's son Oliver Budd remade the mural in miniature nearby. This image is from an old amateur 35mm colour transparency – a vintage 1970s photograph.

Snow Hill station was revived in the mid-1980s, with a new rebuilt station opening in 1987. Kenneth George Budd (1925 –1995) was an English mural artist, known for his mosaics and work in other materials. His company, Kenneth Budd and Associates was based in Penge, south London. He was made an Associate of the Royal College of Art in 1950. This image is from an old amateur 35mm colour transparency. It will look soft and grainy if used at too large a size – a vintage 1970s photograph.
