Sigismund III Vasa, 1566 - 1632. King of Poland and Grand Duke of Lithuania 1587 to 1632 and, as Sigismund, King of Sweden and Grand Duke of Finland (1592 to 1599). In the picture he is flanked by personifications of his territories and allies, including Minerva representing Poland and an Ottoman woman with peace branch in hand, a reference to the Polish-Ottoman War of 1620 - 1621.
