Tong, and amphibious assault ship USS Makin Island (LHD 8) Commanding Officer Mark A. Melson cut a cake during a reception held aboard Makin Island as part of a scheduled port visit. Makin Island, with the embarked 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit, is in Hong Kong to experience the city's rich culture and history as part of ongoing operations in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region.
