William Schmidt, of this review, acquired his early education in the public schoolsof Milwaukee and early learned the jewelers trade under the direction of a Mr. Oak-land. He afterward went east, where he remained for a time, but again came to hisnative city and here joined his fathej- in the ownership and conduct of the jewelrystore with which he has since been connected. In 1883 their first catalogue was printed.
