An Italian battle sword,mid-16th century. Slender blade(somewhat bent)of lenticular cross-section,the last 2 cm to the point broken off. On one side Passau wolf mark with remnants of brass inlays. Ricasso with double fullers and several cross marks,as well as maker's mark "MIS". Helically cut quillons(incorrectly mounted)with small flattened finials and two guard rings. Original leather-covered grip. Flattened ball pommel chiselled with three scallops. Length 158 cm.
