Polonnaruwa is the second kingdom of ancient Sri Lanka. King Parakramabahu 4 developed many wewas and temples and establish the sustenance of the country. The Polonnaruwa Lankathilaka Image House is a monolithic Buddha image house also built by king Parakramabahu out of bricks and the outer walls are covered with elaborate designs and carvings.
