ATLANTIC OCEAN (Aug. 22, 2018) Daniel Knaus, a contract support member assigned to Operational Test and Evaluation Force (OPTEVFOR), center right, observes night flight operations in the carrier air traffic control center aboard the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72) as part of the joint precision approach and landing system (JPALS) operational test with the F-35C Lightning II aircraft. Abraham Lincoln is currently underway conducting carrier qualifications.
