The House of Representatives of the Eighth LegislativeAssembly passed a Bill appropriating the sum named by theGovernor. In the Senate the Bill was amended by addingthe names of five prominent citizens to constitute the Com-mission, whose duty should be to take charge of the Statesinterests in the two Expositions. The House of Representa-tives refused to concur in the Senate Amendment namingthe Commmission, and the Bill failed on the last night of PKESIDEXT, MONTAN-A COMMISSION AT LOUISIANA PtJHCHASE EXPOSITIOl MOXTAXA AT THE LOlISIAXA PURCHASE EXPOSITION. 23 On the Irttli day of March, 1903, ahnost immediately fol-lowing the adjournment of the Legislature, the Governorissued the following proclamation, appointing an HonoraryCommission for the Louisiana Purchase Exposition.
