Type: Antique engraved map with original outline colour. The map shows British North America (present-day Canada) in the middle of the 19th century, shortly after the Webster-Ashburton treaty with the United States, which ended the Aroostock War and resolved the border dispute between Maine and New Brunswick. In pink is the border claimed by the British Government, in green is the border claimed by the US Government. The yellow line shows the final border as determined by the treaty. Inset in the top left hand corner of the map are city plans of Montreal and Quebec City.
