A Peasant Wedding The following is an account of a wedding scene atOosman, in the Government of Tamboff. The favouriteday for marriages in this district is Oclober the first, the feteday of the province. On this occasion (1911) seventeencouples were united, three pairs at a time. The brides worebrightly coloured frocks, consisting of red petticoats andwide-sleeved bodices of orange yellow silk, decorated withred and green trimmings.
