It can easily be distinguished from either species- by the absence of white markings and by the front wings being a dull light brown with two wide darker brown transverse bands on tbe outer half running obliquely outwards from the front margin. The outer of these bands is sometimes incom- plete. The hind wings are of a lighter l)rown than the front.
