The most noted of these hymns is the one commencingwith the line: Auf! ihr Christen, Christi glieder. This is found on page 430 of the original edition. Thishymn is a stirring, vigorous composition of eleven stanzasof six lines each. It was set to the melody Meine Hojf-nung stehet veste and was well calculated to raise thereligious fervor of the worshippers. Upon a manuscript copy of this hymn, Falckner notestwo references to the scriptures as his theme, or the foun-dation of its composition, viz. : Finally my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of Hismight (Eph. vi. 10).
