The Guernsey is slightlylarger than the Jersey andperhaps a little more give very rich milk, butnot so much as the Holstein-Friesian or the Ajr-s/iirc, the imported cow from Scotland. Thislast-named breed is hardy and robust — idealin this respect. In sizeshe ranks between theJersey and the red or white, or amixture of the two, theAyrshire is not only at-tractive and popularbecause of her form andcolor but also because ofher high merits as a pro-ducer of milk and cheese. Another foreign breedthat hasattracted theAmerican farmer is the Bnnitt Swiss of Switzerland. These are mouse-colored, rugged animals ; some are good milk-ers, but many are indifferent when compared.
