Craig yr Aderyn (Bird's Rock) seen from Castell Y Bere, Dysynni Valley, Abergynolwyn, Gwynedd, North Wales, The 232m (760 ft) high rock dome rears up from the flat valley floor, once a long inlet of the sea which gradually silted up. The rock was lapped by the waves but the sea is now 6 miles to the south west at Tywyn on Cardigan Bay. The rock’s cliffs are the farthest place from the sea in Britain where cormorants nest. It is also home to a herd of wild goats.
