Migrating army ants. Army ants (Dorylus anomma nigricans) tending to eggs and pupae in a temporary nest set-up during migration of the colony to another area. These ants, also known as driver or safari ants, are found primarily in Central and East Africa. They live in huge colonies containing over 20 million individuals and prey on anything from insects to larger injured animals, such as rats.
