Oxford, a post office of Ritchie county, Virginia. Packs Ferry, a post office of Monroe county, Virginia. Paddytown, a small village of Hampshire county, Virginia, onthe N. branch of Potomac river, and about 210 miles N. W. fromRichmond. Page, a county toward the N. E. part of Virginia, contains about300 square miles. The soil is of limestone formation and is highlyproductive. Wheat, Indian corn, hay and butter are the 1850 this county produced 128,430 bushels of wheat, 137,602of corn, 2253 tons of hay, and 53,207 pounds of butter. Therewere 16 flour mills, three saw mills, one iron furnace, two iron for-ges, and five tanneries. It contained eleven churches, 463 pupilsattending public schools, anci 35 attending other schools. Iron oreand fine marble are abundant ; copper and lead are also found. Cap-ital, Luray.
