Northern Pride Male yawning in the late afternoon during the gold light moment of the day which we wildlife photographers wait in eager anticipation. Lions yawn frequently to display their weapons namely the jaws and canines which are used in battle to determine dominance over a pride further their deadly claws are also incorporated in these battles which can often lead to death. As a game ranger I have had the privilege of spending hours photographing the worlds most regal cat and Africa's apex predator.
