A mid-19th century drawing of the erection of the Marquess of Anglesey's Column, aka Anglesey Column or Tŵr Marcwis in Welsh. The 27-metre-high (89 ft) Doric column near the Menai Strait in Wales, is dedicated to Henry William Paget (the first Marquess of Anglesey) to commemorate his valour in the Napoleonic Wars and was designed by Thomas Harrison to stand close to Paget's country retreat at Plas Newydd. It was completed in 1860 (after the Marquess had died) when the brass sculpture at the top was added.
