Fbr these reasons there are but few plants that will endure for a long time in common living rooms. To obviate these difficulties, the Ward Case has been constructed. It consists essentially in covering the plants with glass. This protects them from dust, and by confining the moisture which is con- stantly exhaled by the leaves, gives them a humid atmosphere. It also assists materially in equalizing the temperature, and shielding from the effects of the sud- den changes which may oc- cur in the room.
