The clumsy, knotted ringers, the snuffyrobe and dirty bib, long, grey locks growing sparsely on hishead, show that the years he has spent in his profession havenot raised him very far in it. A man sits in front of him, leaning against the table, and in the back of the room a crowdof spectators listen to his eloquence. The expression on theold mans face is very fine, and the drawing is spirited. Signed on table, H. Daumier. * Height, 7 inches; length, 9 inches.
