Conifer forest in the Sitka National Historical Park Sitka Alaska USA

The Sitka National Historical Park on the outskirts of Sitka, Alaska, is the site of a 19th century battle between Russian forces and native American warriors. Although the park is mostly dense forest, totem poles stand scattered through the park as a reminder of the past fighting.
