DAVID ABBE, born July, 1751; died August 7, 1799, recorded in EastWindsor, Conn. Resided in Granby, Mass., at the time of his death. He isperhaps the David Abbe who was a private under Captain Phineas Smith, April19, 1775; enlisted in Massachusetts, August 17, 1777; was Corporal, the 1790 Census he is recorded at Granby, one male over 16, six males under16, three females in the family. Every effort has been made to learn hisparentage, but without success. Married August 25, 1774, SARAH PRESTON, born June 2, 1754; died Janu-arj^ 3, 1809. The widow Sarah Abbe was living in Granby in 1800, one femaleover 45, two males between 16 and 26, one female between 10 and 16, two malesand one female under 10 in the family. According to the probate records atNorthampton, on April 6, 1802, Sarah was appointed guardian for the threeyoungest children,
