The box is open from below and from above. Inside there are vertically twelve copper (soldered) pattern tubes. In the top edge there is a row of small holes that served to confirm the (absent) cover. In full condition, the pattern bag was contained in leather, with a leather lid and a belt. The pattern tubes could contain 12 patterns made of rolled paper with powder and a musket ball.
