An adult, pale morph, brown falcon perched on a tree stump feeding on the leftover wedge-tailed eagle's wallaby carcass in Cape York, Australia.
A brown falcon feeds off the remains of a small wallaby that was the kill of a large mature wedge-tail eagle that after taking its prey to a near by dead tree stump to feed was scared off by a cattle road train that came by the roadside stump. Soon after the eagle left a brown falcon settled on the carcass to have a feed. I staked out the kill hoping for the return of the eagle but it never did return.
