A Spanish/Italian left-hand dagger,circa 1680 Single-edged blade,at the point double-edged,with serrated spine,the ricasso with openwork and blade catchers. Finely cut,iron hilt with broad crossguard and openwork knuckle guard decorated with blossoms and tendrils. Grip covered with velvet(traces of use)with cut,iron clasps. Swamped,cut pommel with small rivetted pommel. Length 58 cm.
