More than 13,000 people attended the service to honor the 184 AmericaÕs heroes who lost their lives one year ago when terrorists crashed a commercial airliner into the Department of Defense headquarters. Elementary students, who lost classmates, and teachers aboard American Airlines Flight 77, recited the ÒPledge of AllegianceÓ following the National Anthem.
