Verona Veneto Italy. Basilica of San Zeno, also known as Saint Zeno Maggiore or San Zenone UNESCO World Heritage Site. Is one of the most important example of Romanesque style church in Italy. Its origin is very antique, a first church was built in early 9th century and damaged by a Magyar invasion so repaired in the 10th century. After the 1117 earthquake repaired with a new roof and a Gothic apse. As all the old Romanesque style church, is divided in three level, the Crypt that is a church in the church, the Central church (Chiesa Plebana) and the Presbytery. Closeup of Altarpiece made by F.
