Erfurt, In March 1970, Erfurt was the scene of the Erfurt summit meeting between Federal Chancellor Willy Brandt and the Chairman of the GDR Council of Ministers, Willi Stoph. Among other things, Brandt showed himself at the window of the Hotel Erfurter Hof, which is located opposite the main train station.
