Daniele Comboni ( Limone sul Garda 1831 - Khartoum 1881 ) was an Italian Catholic missionary and bishop , founder of the Comboni Missionary Institutes of the Heart of Jesus and of the Pious Mothers of Africa. Venerated as a saint by the Catholic Church, he was canonized by John Paul II on October 5, 2003, Verona Italy, Italian.
