Tom Pryce Memorial Ruthin, Thomas Maldwyn Pryce was a 70's British racing driver from Wales known for winning the Race of Champions at Brands Hatch which was a non-championship Formula One race, he tragically lost his life at the 1977 South African Grand Prix.
Thomas Maldwyn Pryce 1949 - 1977 A boy brought up in the Vale of Clwyd, Tom Pryce became a racetrack star of the 1970's. Quiet and unassuming, he was a Grand Prix driver of almost peerless brilliance. On the brink of winning every prize his career could offer, a marshal ran into his path at the South African GP Kyalami and both were killed. A true country man at heart he remains the Prince of the Welsh Racing drivers.
