Individual instruc-tion is. given in the home, classes areconducted in home kitchens, and groupsare taught on recreation piers. The maximum and minimum dietariesare arranged both as to cost and tonutritive content. In the cases of theminimum diets it is explained that theyare simply to maintain a balance, whilefunds are at a low ebb and that an in-crease in cost and nutritive value is desir- !^34 NEW BOSTON. The possibilities of adapting this planto suit different localities are workers may co-operate with publicschool courses, mothers clubs, settle-ments and any other activity whichis in the field for the same final result. The policy of any relief association isnow very largely educational and reliefgiven is believed to be much morevaluable if it carries with it instructionwhich will hasten the time of self-respectand indejjcndence for the family. Thismovement of popular education in rightfeeding will, it is believed, help to bringabout this end. The question of howto approach the women themselvestroubles many of the new workers, butthe writer has found it easy, simplyby taking it for granted that eachwoman is interested in the questionsof the day and that
