A boat with guests is seen close to the floating solar power plant in Alqueva. Inaugurated on the 15th of July, this plant is ready to supply energy to more than 30% of the population of Moura and Portel regions, in the south of Portugal. With close to 12,000 photovoltaic panels occupying 4 hectares, the floating solar power plant is located at Alqueva Dam and has an installed power of 5 MW and the capacity to produce around GWh per plant is the largest in Europe at a reservoir.
