Terris Novalis, Consett
Terris Novalis, sculpture by artist Tony Cragg. These sculptures are enlarged stainless steel representations of engineering instruments and reflect the histortic importance of the steel industry which occupied this site at Consett until the 1980's. The sculptures are now landmarks on the C2C national coast to coast Whitehaven to Sunderland cycle route which passes at this point. This part of the route follows a former railway line to Sunderland.
