Just the Pear to pollenize the Kieffer. A seedling of Chinese Sand Pear; very vigorous, and free from blight; very productive ; fruit large,round, handsome, smooth,waxy yellow ; excellent for canning and preserving. Kieffer. Tree remarkably vigorous, and an early and very prolific bearer; fruit is of good size, good color, good quality, and is a good variety for table or for market. Skin deep orange yellow in the sun, with a few russet dots. Flesh whitish, a little coarse,juicy,half melting,sweet; quality very good, partaking slightly of the Chinese Sand Pear. Ripens all of October and part of November. Begins to bear at three years. Trees ten years old will pro- duce 10 bushels Of fruit.
