'Bombay-Poona Mail, Great Indian Peninsula Railway', c1900. Mumbai-Pune Mail (started as Bombay-Poona Mail) was a luxurious train on the Mumbai-Pune section by the Great Indian Peninsula Railway. The Great Indian Peninsula Railway was incorporated on 1st August 1849 by an act of the British Parliament. On 17 August 1849 it entered into a contract with the East India Company for the construction and operation of the line. [Raphael Tuck & Sons, London, c1900]
