It is now owned by his grandson who has considerably modernized it. Itwas quite a mansion when erected and is still a very larj^e and handsome house. The picture shows it asit appeared when first built. It is very near the Merriniac River, and Mt. Kearsarge is seen in the dis-tance. On the bluff, to the right, was a look-out station.
