Large grizzly on shore at high tide eating sedge grass, Khutzeymateen estuary, BC

Coastal British Columbia consists of fjords, islands, mountains, cascading waterfalls and the largest tract of roadless temperate rainforest on the planet. At the northern end of the coast, near the Alaska border, lies the Khutzeymateen Grizzly Bear Sanctuary, located in a large undisturbed marine estuary. It is the home to a protected population of wild coastal grizzlies that have had little contact with humans.
