Allosaurus dinosaur head. Computer illustration of the head of an Allosaurus sp. dinosaur. This carnivorous theropod lived during the Late Jurassic Period (around 155 to 145 million years ago) in what is now North America. It averaged lengths of around metres, although it is thought it could have reached over 12 metres long.
