From the secondto the eighth minute the same oppression of thebreathing which ensues on immersion in a Nauheimbath was experienced. At the eighth minute thepulse was found to be 78 ; after an immersion often minutes it was 76 ; after dressing 86, and anhour later 82. The change which was effected inthe area of cardiac dulness is shown in the accom-panying diagram (I). The temperature of the bathwas 92° F.
