In the summer of 1960, 10 year-old Mike, a boy from Maxton, NC, a small town halfway between Charlotte and WIlmington on US 74, plays with friends on a porch. The porch was a common place for kids to play in the era before television dominated. Mike grew up and served in Vietnam, returning with a bride.
