Novogolutvinsky, or the Holy Trinity New Golutvin convent is an Orthodox convent of the Moscow diocese in Kolomna. The monastery was founded in the XIX century on the territory of the former bishop's house after the abolition of the Kolomna Diocese in 1799 - in the Kolomna Kremlin. Some of the stones used to build the Trinity Cathedral in 1705 came from the bishop's house. At the lower floor of the Trinity Church there is a chapel in honor of Saint Xenia of Saint Petersburg. She is the mother superior of this monastery. In 2002, a separate chapel was added in honor of the source of Saint Vladimir and Anastasia. There are currently over 80 nuns living in the monastery from Russia, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, and Belarus. In the past there were also nuns from the Netherlands, Finland, Hungary and Poland, but they have left for other places, some returning to their homeland. There is a guest house for pilgrims and a refectory. Nuns give guided tours of the monastery. Other attractions include a rare breed of dogs the Buryat-Mongol and Central Asian Shepherd which are being bred by the nuns and the camel Sinai, presented by a group of astronauts. In December 2003, the monastery was visited by Vladimir Putin, President of the Russian Federation, and in the summer of 2011 the monastery was visited by Russian President Dmitry Medvedev. Other guests of honor include Patriarch Aleksey II, the mayor of Kolomna Shuvalov and the world's first female cosmonaut Valentina Tereshkova.
