Cest sur une cotéélevée, au milieu de ces bois et de ces rochers qu étoit le Temple deDiane Taurique, dont on prétend que la tour, située auprès du châ-teau de Nemi, a diî faire partie. Du côté opposé est le beau villagede Gensano, si connu à Rome pour la bonté de ses vins. Leau de celac, souvent calme, lui ont fait donner par les poètes le nom de Miroirde Diane. Le temple si fréquenté par les anciens Latins fut loriginede la fondation de ce village.
